Legal literacy is a tool for bringing about qualitative change at the grassroots level. Experience shows that better awareness of laws helps provide work more effectively in diverse spheres. The non-implementation of many laws is partly attributed to the beneficiaries’ lack of awareness. This is where the objective of this project lies.
Under this project, we will be taking a group of young and dedicated students to villages across different states and will be engaging in governance and legal issues pertaining to that area.
This would foremost require the intern to analyse and evaluate the current legal and governance scenarios in different parts of the selected states, drafting exclusive modules for the target audience, followed by the planning of sessions and their execution at the grassroots levels. This would require intense research pertaining to the legal map of that certain region and understanding the ways to effectively bridge the gap between the policies and laws available and the awareness of the respective beneficiaries.
We would like someone with a good understanding of criminal law, civil law and government policies (centre as well as state).
- People enrolled in law, public policy, governance, or any related academic programs.
- People with experience in drafting awareness sessions or modules.
- Proficiency in Hindi (verbal as well as written).
