CFP: Annual Conference on Climate Change @ TISS Mumbai [Sep 4-5]: Submit by Mar 31


The Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, has successfully hosts this event every year, starting from 2009. The centre is devoted to work in the areas of equity and justice in climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The annual conference provides a platform for national and international researchers, scholars, practitioners, policy makers and students to present their findings while also contributing to the deliberations and discussions on role of policies and institutions in adaptation and mitigation strategies for climate change.

Conference Themes

The theme for the Conference is ‘Sectoral Challenges of Climate Change: Exploring Opportunities for Mitigation and Adaptation’.

Conference sub themes are:

  • Strategies for Climate Action (Up to 2030 and beyond)
  • Approaches for Green Economy (Status, Potential and Problems)
  • Sectoral Impacts of Climate Change (Agriculture, Water, Health, Forests)
  • Role of forests in Climate Change Mitigation
  • Loss and Damage (L&D) Assessments
  • Adaptation to Climate Change and Climate Finance
  • Sector-specific Adaptation Strategies (Coastal Zones, Forestry, Public Health, Water)
  • Clean Energy Technologies: Challenges and Issues
  • Role of Institutions in Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change

Call for Papers

  • Researchers, scholars, practitioners and students from all countries are invited to submit extended abstracts based on original research papers with new and innovative results on the broad themes listed.
  • Please note that the list of themes is non-exhaustive. The extended abstract should be around 1500 words (additionally 2 figures or tables) (Times New Roman, 12 Font, 1.5 Spacing, .pdf version)
  • The extended abstract should be mailed to the email address: [email protected] with the subject line “abstract for climate conference 2020” before the deadline

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Submission of Extended Abstracts: 31st March, 2020
  • Notification on the Acceptance: 20th April, 2020
  • Last Date for Submission of Full Paper: 1st August, 2020
